Tabby Wins and the Passion of Her Partners

Tabby Lane won her first over the turf course and her first at Canterbury Park over the weekend.  She trailed early but circled the small field late and Dean Butler rode her perfectly through the lane and under the wire for the 1 ¾ length win.  He knew exactly what he had under him and Tabby responded when asked.  She went off at 7.5 to 1 and was the second longest shot in the field but, as I mentioned in the preview post, her only bad trips over the grass is when we had her in at five furlongs, a distance way too short for her.

Since the blinkers came off she has had 3 starts and has won two and finished second once.  Not bad and way to go everyone at the Rhone barn for bringing her all the way back.

I was not in town for the race (and I’m betting that my partners want me away for all subsequent races now…), but I had texts and e-mails galore to keep me abreast of the happenings.  I remember starting this blog with the intent of giving you the entire feel for owning a racehorse.  We've had one partner make "Tabby Lane" tee-shirt and now here is a home video shot and edited by another of our partners who was at Canterbury Park on Sunday.  THIS is what it feels like to own a racehorse and what it can then make you do with the rest of your Sunday – better than any words I could write:
