Horse Shoe for Rescue

As you all know, from time to time I plug individual horse rescues and rescue groups. Here is a note from Caroline Betts of the Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue. Sired by Affirmed, graded stakes winner The Tin Man is now reaching out to raise funds for other thoroughbred racehorses by auctioning off one of his shoes and a couple of bonus photos on EBAY with all net proceeds going to the SCTR. A few of The Tin Man's accomplishments:

Clement L. Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship Stakes (2002, 2006)
American Handicap (2002)
San Luis Obispo Handicap (2003)
Arlington Million (2006)
American Handicap (2006)
San Marcos Stakes (2006)
Shoemaker Mile (2007)

Now, by purchasing one of his shoes and these photos, you can him give back!

The specifics:

Dear Friends, we are auctioning off on eBay a horseshoe worn by The Tin Man in retirement, along with two beautiful photographs, with the entire net proceeds to be allocated to the horses of Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue. We are extremely grateful to Russell Drake and the folks at River Edge Farm for donating the horseshoe.

Please can you forward this eBay link to anyone you know that may be interested in bidding on this package? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300291298191

You can see our thoroughbreds that the proceeds of this auction will benefit, and read about them here: www.sctbrescue.org. There are some wonderful photographs of them throughout the site and especially in the photogallery.

Thanks for your support!

Caroline

Finally, I would like to link over to fellow TBA Blogger Donna Keen who is raising money for a monster effort to save 20 horses from slaughter. Give her blog a click and see if you can help there as well. Times are tough for all of us, but they are also tough for our equine friends that are fully dependent on us for their support.
