Zenyatta Helps Her Fellow Race Horses

I received an e-mail yesterday from Neigh Savers Executive Director Karin Wagner yesterday. It looks like my equine crush, Zenyatta, is donating some memorabilia to help out Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue. Here is the text of the letter:

Dear friends,

John Chun is running two amazing Zenyatta item auctions on ebay, which have started today, Friday October 3 and will end Monday October 13. All items for the auction are donated by John, myself, and Sharla Sanders, and we will donate the net of cost proceeds of both auctions to the veterinary and other costs of Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue (certified CA non profit #3151037) horses, including recent auction rescues Victory Design (IRE) and Donna's Dance. Can I possibly ask you to forward this email and links to others that may be interested in bidding on the following items?

I. The first auction is here:( and is of a genuine Zenyatta horseshoe worn during her win in the G2 Clement L Hirsch at Del Mar 2008, a statement of authenticity, an official Benoit 11x14 action photograph of her win in the Clement Hirsch, and an 8x10 photograph, taken by John, of her approach to the winner's circle signed by jockey Mike Smith.

II. The second auction is here:( and is of two lovely 8x10 photographs of Zenyatta, and taken by John, during the Milady Handicap at Hollywood Park, 2008, signed by jockey Mike Smith.

Please note that buyers will not receive a tax receipt since SCTR is not yet a federal tax exempt (501c3) organization.

Take a look at the good work Neigh Savers is doing and try and lend them a hand if you can.

That Zenyatta...she had me at "neigh"...
